World Toughest Question

It has been such a long time since I blog, apologies for those that are waiting for my next blog. Haha!

As the title says, I am going to write something about the World’s Toughest Question. Why do I say it is the toughest is because the answer is not easily obtained and required a huge amount of courage to find the answer. Another problem is that although it is the world’s toughest question, everyone (well, almost all) would definitely ask this question at least once in their lifetime.

Ok, I shall not hold you guys in suspense. The World’s Toughest Question is “How can one know whether a lady/man likes him/her or not?” So? How is it? Tough right? And definitely you would ask yourself this question when you start to have feelings for someone.

Asking this question is a start to emotional roller coaster ride. First thing first. You need to find the answer to that question first and the direct approach is seldom used because it can be quite embarrassing, especially when the answer is something that you are not hoping for, especially in the Asian Culture where ‘face’ is very important. The indirect approach, as most people would use is to befriend his/her close friends. Then from this group of people, seek your answers. But this indirect approach takes too long and would be torturous for you if you are so deeply infatuated with this person.

If by some luck, chance or even miracle, you are able to find the answer, the next thing would be to take the appropriate step

1) Let your feelings for him/her be known to him/her

This approach is usually taken if you found out that he/she has feelings for you as well.(Congratulations!) Or you are extremely desperate to have her, which could result into a disaster if he/she decides to avoid you altogether! Down slope all the way for this roller coaster!! Argh……..!!

2) Use your network that you established with his/her group to get close to her. Then start providing hints of your intentions, hope she catches them and cross all available fingers you have that he/she may decide to further the relationship. This could be long and definitely painful process because you have to keep guessing whether he/she understands the hints you drop or not.

3) Give him/her up altogether. How long this pain is going last will depends how long you get over him/her.

Whatever it is, the whole episode would be a roller coaster ride be it if he/she rejects you or in the end you got married together. It is a matter of whether the episode would result in more pain or more happiness.

For my case, more pain then happiness as yet, but I guess as long as I am a human, I would be constantly asking myself the World’s Toughest Question and be tortured by it. ARGH……………!!!! Who can help me!?!?!?!?
